    中国“人造太阳”找到突破密度极限方法

    　　科技日报合肥1月3日电 (记者洪敬谱 通讯员蔡其敏)记者3日从中国科学院合肥物质科学研究院等离子体物理研究所获悉，被称为“人造太阳”的全超导托卡马克核聚变实验装置(EAST)在物理实验中取得重要成果。研究团队基于边界等离子体与壁相互作用自组织理论，通过物理实验证实了托卡马克密度自由区的存在。相关研究成果于1日发表在国际学术期刊《科学进展》上。 　　对于未来聚变堆，聚变功率与燃料密度的平方成正比，因此高密度运行是提高聚变能经济性的必然选择。“密度极限”是20世纪末发现的纯经验定标，超过密度极限的托卡马克运行将引发等离子体破裂，巨大能量会瞬间释放到装置内壁，影响装置的安全运行。虽然国际聚变界通过完善跨装置经验定标，并在芯部弹丸注入等特定条件下获得了超密度极限运行，逐步明确触发密度极限的物理过程发生于边界区域，但是对其中的物理机制并不十分清楚。 　　基于这一问题，科研团队发展了一种新的理论模型——边界等离子体与壁相互作用自组织(PWSO)理论模型。通过这个模型，团队发现了边界杂质引发的辐射不稳定性在触发密度极限时的关键作用，解析出了辐射不稳定性的边界，揭示了密度极限的触发机理，并预测了密度极限之外的密度自由区。在实验中，研究人员依托EAST装置的全金属壁运行环境，利用电子回旋共振加热和预充气协同启动等方法，减少了装置边界的杂质溅射，延迟了密度极限的到来和等离子体破裂的发生。研究人员还通过调控靶板的物理条件，降低了靶板钨杂质造成的物理溅射，让等离子体成功突破了密度极限，并平稳进入了预测中的密度自由区。实验结果和PWSO理论预测高度吻合，首次证实了托卡马克密度自由区的存在。 【编辑:张令旗】|dfg|
