    　　中新社北京12月30日电 (记者 孙自法)中国科学院30日向媒体发布信息称，经国际天文学联合会批准，由中国科学院国家天文台于1997年发现的、国际永久编号第29509号小行星，已经以中国科学院院士、植物生理学家匡廷云的名字正式命名为“匡廷云星”。 　　“匡廷云星”命名仪式日前在中国科学院植物研究所举行。现场向匡廷云院士颁发命名证书、运行轨道图，并介绍了“匡廷云星”的发现经过、轨道参数和运行情况。 　　中国科学院植物研究所所长汪小全致辞说，将第29509号小行星命名为“匡廷云星”，是对匡廷云院士杰出科学成就的永久纪念，也是对该所科技贡献的高度认可。 　　中国科学院院士、中国植物学会理事长种康表示，匡廷云院士作为中国植物学会名誉理事长，始终心系学会发展与学科建设，为中国植物学事业的蓬勃发展作出重要贡献。 　　中国生物物理学会副理事长姜长涛指出，小行星命名是对匡廷云院士长期以来在光合作用科学研究和交叉学科不懈探索的肯定。 　　匡廷云表示，“匡廷云星”的荣誉不属于个人，是属于一代代为中国植物生物学的发展而奋斗的科研工作者。 　　据悉，小行星是目前各类天体中唯一可以由发现者进行命名并得到国际公认的天体，其命名具有严肃性、唯一性、永久性和国际性，获得小行星命名已成为世界公认的崇高荣誉。(完) 【编辑:李润泽】|dfg|
